Hot-Shooting Cibona Beat Zadar In Game Three

07 June 2010

Cibona Zagreb stayed alive in the Croatia A1 Liga play-off finals with an 87-81 Game 3 victory over KK Zadar, but they may have lost national team sharpshooter Marko Tomas for the remainder of the series to an Achilles problem.

Looking to finish the season on a high after narrowly losing the Adriatic League title game to Partizan Belgrade, Cibona caught fire from long range, drilling 17 of their 29 attempts.

Vedran Vukusic connected on all five of his attempts from behind the arc and finished with 16 points.

Jamont Jordan was four of six on his three-balls and Luksa Andric finished five of eight.

Zadar still have a 2-1 lead and host Game 4 on Tuesday, and it's unclear if Tomas - who left the action in the first half and did not return - will play.

The club should know more about his Achilles problem on Monday.

Gordon, who had a team-high 21 points, is eager to play Game 4.

"I've heard what awaits us on Tuesday," he said.

"They made a lot of noise in the previous game.

"They say that this time will be worse, but I like to play on the big stages and am looking forward to it.

"I think it can only have a positive effect on my game."

Hrvoje Peric of Zadar led all scorers with 22 points while teammate Rok Stipcevic finished an assist shy of a double-double.

He ended up with 15 points and nine assists.
