Unicaja Malaga have released a statement to announce the expectation that Jasmin Repesa will coach the team next season.
The veteran tactician led Cibona Zagreb to the Croatian title on Tuesday night, a 3-1 victory over Cedevita, and Repesa revealed after that he "had not signed anything yet" when asked about his possible departure to Unicaja in Spain's Liga Endesa.
His position as the coach of Croatia's national side looks set to end after this summer, though.
The Croatian Basketball Federation secretary general Zeljko Draksic confirmed to FIBA Europe that Repesa will lead the team in the Qualification Round for EuroBasket 2013.
"No problem," Draksic said. "He will continue this summer with us. I think this agreement with the club in Spain will allow him to be coach this summer.
"What will be next, I don't know but be sure, he will be our coach for the Qualification Round."
The Spanish club, which finished a disappointing ninth this season in the Liga Endesa, said: "Unicaja Malaga have reached a preliminary agreement with coach Jasmin Repesa so that he trains the team during the 2012-13 campaign with the club having the option of extending that relationship for a further season.
"This agreement will become official once the Bosnian (born) coach concludes his relationship with the Croatian Basketball Federation as he will guide the Croatian national team in the Qualification Round for EuroBasket 2013 from 18 August.
"The next coach of Unicaja Malaga has just won the Croatian championship with Cibona Zagreb."
Repesa will coach the national team in Group C of the EuroBasket Qualification Round against Ukraine, Cyprus, Austria and Hungary.
Their first game is 18 August at home to the Cypriots.
The top two sides from each of the six qualifying groups, and the four best third-place teams, will advance to next year's Final Round in Slovenia.
