|The 3x3 U18 Finals in Poland took place in Wrzesnia|
The U18 final tournament, played in the city of Wrzesnia on 30-31 May, was the final stage of 12 qualifying tournaments held around Poland in spring 2013.
Poland's best 16 men's and eight women's teams played out the champion on four synthetic courts on the main square of the city with FIBA Europe providing all participants with a reversible jersey.
The level of play was exceptional, especially in the boy's tournament, with a good number of national team members competing on various teams.
The games had everything - overtimes, dunks, long-distance shots and incredible tempo. The players were watched by the national coaches who will select the Polish team for the FIBA U18 3x3 World Championship in Jakarta.
The boy's title was secured by GTK I Gdynia who beat the team from Skierniewice 17-7.
The girl's category showed its best - determination, team-spirit and passion from the start to the final buzzer. The team of GTK Gdynia defeated Chrobry Basket Glucholazy 12-11 in a breathtaking final, meaning both titles went to Gdynia.
"Looking ahead to the future we can be very optimistic about the development of 3x3 in youth categories. I saw many talented young players and the great effort of the organisers who succeeded in providing a 3x3 outdoor event mixed with street culture," said Grzegorz Bachanski, President of the Polish Basketball Federation.
The upcoming summer will provide more 3x3 in Poland. The final tournament of the Polish Championship in the open category, hosted by Gdynia on 17-18 August, will be one of 10 events on the 3x3 EuroTour.
