The FIBA Europe 3on3 Gran Canaria 2014 Tour was unveiled in a press conference in Las Palmas on Thursday.
FIBA Europe Director of Operations Miguel Betancor presented the main details of the event to the local media.
The tour will begin at the historic Plaza de Santa Ana in downtown Las Palmas on 24 and 25 February.
Its start is set to coincide with another big event on the island, the official opening of the FIBA Europe Techno Center, on Friday 24 February.
The University of Gran Canaria and four more cities around the island will be the next venues of the FIBA Europe 3on3, with games taking place through April.

Alongside Miguel Betancor on the panel were the Sport Councillor of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Lucas Bravo de Laguna, Municipality of Las Palmas Councillor Carlos Ester, and the president of the Canary Islands Basketball Federation, Juan Ferre.
Lucas Bravo de Laguna, as representative of the FIBA Europe 3on3 Tour co-organising authority, believes the event is the perfect opportunity for the island to showcase its organising capabilities.
Las Palmas is one of the first round venues of the FIBA World Cup 2014.
The organisers expect approximately 400 players of all ages and both sexes to take part in the first 3on3 event on Gran Canaria, a place that lends itself perfectly to outdoors basketball in the winter.
