The FIBA Europe 3on3 trucks arrived in Kaunas on Wednesday to prepare for the 3on3 tournaments that will add to the buzz in the Lithuanian city around the final stages of EuroBasket 2011.
Three days of action will take place in the city center, only a stone's throw away from the Kauno Arena where all the EuroBasket action takes place.
More than 400 players in 108 teams and six categories will suit up in the provided FIBA Europe uniforms to play on the eight courts that are being set up at the east end of the pedestrian area of Liberty Alley.
Each team will play a minimum of three games to determine the champions.
But it is not only the fun for the participants that matters here.
The schedule also features a 3on3 wheelchair promotion game as well as a special event for kids from children's' homes.
The children will have the possibility to meet and play alongside some of their idols, such as Lithuanian all-time great Saulius Stombergas.
Spectators will be able to enjoy the games on court as well as the entertainment around and can also get involved in small games.
On Thursday, 15th September, boys and girls in the U15 age category will kick off the 3on3 action at 13:00.
Games are scheduled until 18:00 with slight changes possible, due to weather conditions.
On 16th September, the U17 age categories will take center stage while the adult tournament for everybody born in 1993 or before will take place on the 18th.
This tournament starts at 11:00 and is scheduled to end around 16:00.
