Youth Websites See Increased Traffic

21 August 2009

With FIBA Europe's youth basketball season wrapping up last Sunday in Lithuania and Portugal the numbers have once again proved that fans across Europe are taking a greater interest in the continents developing talent.

FIBA Europe provided more content than ever through their home page and the official websites of the youth championships and fans responded.

The biggest gains in website visits came for U20 Women and U16 Men.

The U20 European Championship Women's official website registered 1.4 million page views, up 67% from 2008, while the U16 Men's website saw 2.2 million page views, a 70% increase over the prior year.

The most visited youth websites were the U20 and U18 men's sites, both of whom registered approximately 2.9 million page views.  For the U20 site it was a 34% increase from 2008, while the U18 site number reflected a 45% bump.

Overall it was a full summer for basketball fans, and FIBA Europe was the place to go on the web for basketball information.

Fibaeurope.com and it's associated websites were visited 4.9 million times, a 53% increase from 2008.
