Herbert Joins FECC Team

The FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate has added another big name to its list of European coaching heavyweights taking part in the ground breaking program.

Aris TT Bank head coach Gordon Herbert has signed on as a project group member and will work with coaches from around Europe on the areas important in the identification and development of young talent.

France Coach To Be Named In New Year // 13 December 2007 A successor to departed France coach Claude Bergeaud is set to be named between January 11 and February 16. A committee comprising some of the leading names in French basketball has been set up to look at the state of the France team and give its assessment on how it should proceed.

Gershon Puts Pen To Paper For Bulgaria Job // 10 December 2007 Pini Gershon is one of the best in the business when it comes to turning basketball teams into winners and now Bulgaria have enlisted his services for the next two summers. That was confirmed on Sunday when the Olympiacos coach met with representatives of the Bulgarian Federation in Athens and agreed to coach the team through the summer of 2009 when the EuroBasket is staged in Poland.

Participants Give Positive Feedback On FECC // 18 October 2007 ”Priceless advice.” This is how Michael Schwarz, FIBA Europe’s Coaching Co-ordinator, describes the feedback he received from the coaches who attended the first year of the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate (FECC) in Rethymnon, Crete, 24-30 July, 2007. Fifty nine coaches, representing 33 National Federations attended the FECC which coincided with the U16 European Championship Men and returned an evaluation questionnaire on the event after its conclusion.
