The FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate has added another big name to its list of European coaching heavyweights taking part in the ground breaking program.

Aris TT Bank head coach Gordon Herbert has signed on as a project group member and will work with coaches from around Europe on the areas important in the identification and development of young talent.

Herbert joins multiple World and European Championship winning coach Svetislav Pesic, the programs mentor, along with a variety of other coaches with extensive experience coaching in Europe.

Herbert has enjoyed success as a coach in Finland, Germany, Austria, France and currently Greece, winning a German National Championship at Frankfurt Skyliners, a French Cup at Pau Orthez and leading his current team to a final 16 appearance in the Euroleague.

"It's an honor to be asked to participate in the FECC along with so many other great coaches," Said Herbert.

"You can give something and you can take something away as well, there's going to be a lot of great coaches there and though I hope to be able to teach the coaches something I hope to take something away from it as well."

"We're happy to have Gordon as a part of FECC.  He has so much great experience that will add a lot to the program and I think the participants will benefit from his years as a top flight coach in Europe." Said FIBA Europe Coaching Co-ordinator Michael Schwarz.

The FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate offers coaches from around Europe the unique opportunity to learn from some of the best in their business.

The program focuses on the identification and development of young talent and is built around a once annual clinic held, this year, in conjunction with the FIBA Europe Under-18 European Championship Men.

The six day clinic provides training in player profiling and team selection as well as guidance in applying the most appropriate teaching methods in developing young talent.

At the end of the two year program, graduates have received invaluable experience and a qualification from the only coaching certificate program in the world run by an international basketball governing body.
