"Andrei Kirilenko is a deserving winner of this award," commented FIBA Europe President George Vassilakopoulos.
"Very few people expected Russia to win the gold medal last summer and their eventual victory was due in large part to his stellar play."
Kirilenko is currently with the Russian team which is preparing for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
Russia, competing in a four team international tournament, won the game 84-63.
