GALATASARAY ROUT ISTANBUL UNIVERSITESI
Having slipped up again in EuroLeague Women last week with a third loss in four games, Galatasaray odeabank took out their frustration on EuroCup Women quarter-finalists Istanbul Universitesi by demolishing the third-placed team in a superb 70-47 victory.
Shavonte Zellous led the way with some excellent shooting and coralled 23 points to ensure her team has still only lost once in the league all season.
Fenerbahce are flying high in Europe and maintained the pressure on their city rivals after squeezing out a precious 71-68 road win at Canik Belediye, thanks to a fine double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds from Quanitra Hollingsworth.
Kayseri Kaski spor took down Konak Belediyesi 72-58 on the back of a season-high 19 points from Gamze Takmaz, with Montenegro national team veteran Ann De Forge responding with 21 points and seven boards.
Former EuroBasket Women MVP Evanthia Maltsi poured in 25 points for Homend Antakya who defeated struggling Orduspor 82-75 on the road and there was agony for fellow relegation-threatened side Tarsus Belediye.
They were pipped 81-78 at home to Mersin Buyuksehir, despite 28 points from veteran forward Delisha Milton-Jones. Croatian Ana Lelas had 26 points in victory alongside a terrific 22 points and 12 rebounds from Courtney Paris.
Adana Botas were another team in the last eight of EuroCup Women to complete a narrow success after claiming a 63-60 win at Besiktas. Rising star Pelin Bilgic and Spanish playmaker Sandra Igueravide shared 32 points, with Montenegrin center Iva Perovanovic showing her class in defeat with 16 points and 13 boards.
UMMC ROLL OVER DYNAMO MOSCOW
|Sue Bird and UMMC Ekaterinburg kept on rolling in Russian domestic action over the weekend|
Another clean sweep for UMMC Ekaterinburg is rapidly looking like a realistic possibility after the champions completed a ruthless and powerful 96-65 victory at defending EuroCup Women champions WBC Dynamo Moscow. No fewer than six players amassed double-digit scores in a real team effort, with Sue Bird claiming a game-high 15 points.
With Dynamo sliding down into fourth spot, there was an opportunity for Nadezhda Orenburg and Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje to take advantage and they did so with ease. Second-placed Nadezhda shrugged off the loss of Glory Johnson to injury and coasted to a 67-37 win against Energia Ivanovo after a sparkling 16 points and 10 rebounds from Natalia Zhedik.
Evgenia Belyakova fired 18 points for Sparta&K as they defeated Spartak Noginsk 81-49 on their home court and Dynamo Kursk maintained the pressure on the top four by completing an 81-56 win against Chevakata Vologda.
BASKET LANDES ARE FLYING IN FRANCE
Having taken a lead in the first leg of their EuroCup Women quarter-final at domestic rivals Villeneuve d'Ascq midweek, Basket Landes continued their rich vein of form by thrashing Lyon 89-66 to jump above their rivals into fourth place. Teenage talent Valeriane Ayayi produced a typically all-action effort with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Above them are Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration who obliterated Tarbes Gespe Bigorre 86-59, behind 22 points from Gaelle Skrela and a brilliant near triple-double of 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds from the irrepressible Geraldine Robert.

At the other end of the table, Naignouma Coulibay produced one of the performances of the season with a mammoth 28 points and 17 rebounds for Arras, but couldn't prevent her team falling to a 76-69 home loss to USO Mondeville.
NICHOLLS STEPS UP FOR RIVAS
Without the injured Laura Gil to call upon, Rivas Ecopolis center Laura Nicholls stepped into the void. She delivered a superb 27 points and nine boards to lead her team to a hard fought 64-58 win at CB Conquero and keep Rivas in a position to continue chasing down Perfumerias Avenida.
The leaders panned Bizkaia GDKO 63-36 on the road, with 10 points and the same number of rebounds for Angelica Robinson, who stood out for Avenida.
Days after being announced as the FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year, Astou Ndour recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds for Gran Canaria 2014, but their patchy form continued as they were shot down 93-77 in a perimeter bombardment from the visiting Bembibre.
