EuroLeague Women finalists Fenerbahce crashed on the first day of the Turkish League, whilst Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration were cut down in France.

Just a week after the glory of their President's Cup triumph, Fenerbahce were left stunned after they slumped to a shock 63-55 loss at Ceyhan Belediye on the first weekend of Turkish League action.

The favourites and one of the EuroLeague Women frontrunners could barely make a shot all game and were defeated thanks mainly to 24 points from D'Andra Moss.

Galatasaray odeabank also experienced a stark contrast in emotions from a week ago, this time disappointment was replaced by pleasure after a 15-0 third quarter run formed the basis of a 66-53 success over Adana Botas. Nevriye Yilmaz fired 16 points and seven rebounds, with Michelle Snow standing out in defeat with an impressive 20 points and 16 rebounds for the EuroCup Women team.

Former UE Sopron small forward Shenise Johnson poured in 21 points for Istanbul Universitesi as they squeezed past Konak Belediyesi, whilst Croatian warrior Ana Lelas had an influential 17 point debut for Mersin in a 79-59 road win at TED Ankara.

Former EuroBasket Women MVP Evanthia Maltsi had a stellar debut too, posting a fine double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds for Antakya Belediyesi who won 74-66 at Canik Belediye.

Kayseri Kaski Spor also won on their travels albeit only just - after they managed to eek out a narrow 66-62 win at Tarsus Belediye.

With the focus on their return to EuroLeague Women, there was an early domestic setback for Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration who are making the headlines after they were sunk 70-55 at Lyon who blasted the visitors away with a blistering finish. Mame Marie Diop added 18 points and eight rebounds for the winning team.

There were also eye-opening losses for both Nantes Reze and Tarbes. The former went down 76-62 at Toulouse despite leading by a huge margin early in the game, whilst the latter was burned 88-66 at fellow EuroCup participants Villeneuve D'Ascq, as Belgian standout Emma Meesseman recorded a brilliant 21 points on perfect 10-for-10 from the field.

Basket Landes edged past Angers 71-65, whilst Tango Bourges are in the familiar position of leaders after a third straight win with a crushing 80-41 success against Nice, thanks to 20 points from Australian center Marianna Tolo.

7. Belinda Snell (CCC Polkowice)
Belinda Snell came up big for CCC Polkowice over the weekend, scoring 19 points

The EuroLeague Women quartet from Poland and Spain are all still perfect, after emerging unscathed from the weekend with victories.

CCC Polkowice cruised to a 63-43 victory at MKS MOS Konin as Belinda Snell scored 19 points and the Aussie was supported by 13 points from Slovenian playmaker Teja Oblak.

Jantel Lavender looks like she could dominate the BLK this season after another powerful effort for Wisla Can-Pack. The former Famila Schio center had 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Krakow club strolled to a 68-50 win at home to Artego Bydgoszcz.

Rivas Ecopolis rolled to a second huge win in as many weeks in Liga Femenina after Frida Eldebrink dropped 21 points in a mammoth 73-40 win against Bembibre, although Perfumerias Avenida had to work a little harder to find a victory.

It needed 26 points, five rebounds and five steals from the in-form Eshaya Murphy to carry them to a 77-71 road success at Mann-Filter Zaragoza.

EuroCup Women hopefuls Dynamo Kursk have made some big signings during the off-season, but have started the Russian League with back-to-back defeats to pile the pressure on head coach Alfredas Vainauskas.

They were beaten 70-57 at home to EuroCup Women champions Dynamo Moscow, who had Serbian scoring ace Ana Dabovic rack up a 19 point haul. Candice Dupree had 20 points for the losing team.

Nadezhda stormed to a 79-65 win against Chevakata and there was an even more convincing success for UMMC who trashed Dynamo Novosibirsk 82-45, with the 21 points and seven rebounds from French star Sandrine Gruda very much the highlight.
