Marcus Faison has become a reference player for the Belgian National Team and that is hardly surprising taking into account what the guard brings to the table. A true veteran at the age of 33 and yet having lost very little of his impressive athletic ability and intensity, Faison brings a wealth of experience and leadership. He leads by example on defence with his great ability to read the game, pressure his opponents and anticipate opportunities to grab some steals. He was one of the leaders in that category during the Qualifying Round last summer and with the added bonus of his considerable height and size, he is a real asset defensively. While predominantly known for his sharp shooting skills, he also likes to run the floor in transition too and is often elusive enough to ghost past opponents and find his way to the hoop. However his main offensive threat still comes from his shooting and last summer he certainly had the hot-hand from downtown. He has extensive experiences at club level having won titles and stepped out at the Euroleague Final Four while in Malaga. Earlier this year he also helped BC Oostende to grab third place at the EuroChallenge Final Four.
