Johanne Gomis comes into the summer off the back of some strong performances for her club side Arras who she helped reach the final of EuroCup Women by averaging over 12 points per game. She is a shooter who could provide Pierre Vincent with plenty of potential firepower as she tries to convince the play-caller to hand her a debut at EuroBasket Women having played a role off the bench last summer at the FIBA World Championship Women. Gomis knows what is required to win having won titles as teenager earlier in her career and in more recent times, has established herself as a key player for Arras. She also participated in the U20 European Championship Women during 2005 in Brno having developed her skills at the USVO basketball academy where she was able to rub shoulders with the elite of European basketball players. Gomis is also capable of providing the team with some reliable defence and is always in contention to come up with some important steals during games.
