Abdoulaye Mbaye poured in 23 points to guide BCM Gravelines Dunkerque to a comfortable 96-63 victory at home over Tsmoki-Minsk to open Group G play in the EuroChallenge.
Sarra Camara and Dwight Buycks both added 14 points for the host French side and Aldo Curti chipped in with 11 points and five assists. The guests from Belarus got 12 points, five rebounds and six assists from Aliaksandr Kudrautsau while Dziannis Korshuk added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Tsmoki stayed around early, leading 11-9 before Mbaye scored six points to spark a 12-2 Gravelines run and a 21-13 lead. The gap was 21-16 after one quarter.
Tsmoki scored seven straight points early in the second period for a 24-23 lead and were still up 31-30. But the hosts went into the locker rooms ahead 36-35.
Minsk would not go away, trailing just 40-39 before Mbaye grabbed six points in an 8-0 run, and a 12-0 surge later in the third had Gravelines up 62-44. The cushion was 62-48 after three periods.
The Belarus team would pull within 14 points before Gravelines finished off the game for good with a 17-0 run and led by as many as 36 points late.
