Double-Doubles Order Of The Day In EuroCup Women

Having played in EuroLeague Women last season, ESB Lille Metropole were always going to be a tough not to crack for Ruzomberok but the home team came mightily close to chalking up an opening day win in Group I but were denied by the outstanding Carla Thomas.

The team from the Slovak Republic just came up short in a tense finale as the French side eased away in the last three minutes of the game at 64-64 with a 9-2 run to eventually prevail 73-66.

Thomas posted an monstrous double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds for the winning team including four triples while Olayinka Sanni claimed 25 points and 8 rebounds in a powerful display.

Rising Belgium star Emma Meesseman continued to enhance her growing reputation with sparkling double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, a feat also matched by Earnesia Williams of the losing team who had 21 points and 12 boards.
