Holon's Lawrence Hill was three assits shy of a triple-double
Hapoel Unet Holon went on a massive 33-3 run spanning the third and fourth quarters for a come-from-behind 88-64 victory at home over Antwerp Giants in Group H action in the EuroChallenge.
Sean Daniels and Jerome Dyson both scored 18 points while Shlomo Harrush scored 15, Franklin Hassell had 12 points and Lawrence Hill collected 11 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and three blocks for Holon, who improved to 2-1 with two home wins and a road loss.
Antwerp dropped their third straight game - and second consecutive on the road - despite Bryan Hopkins collecting 16 points and seven assists. Gregory Thondique (12 points and 14 rebounds) and Jason Love (11 and 10) both had double-doubles in the defeat.
Daniels scored nine points in a 15-3 Holon run to pull ahead 17-9. And the advantage was 17-11 after one quarter. Hopkins scored Antwerp's first six points of the second quarter to start a 15-5 run and pull ahead 26-22. There were four ties before Holon went into the break up 33-32.
The beginning of the second half had six lead changes and two ties before Antwerp went on a 15-3 run to jump ahead 53-43. But the hosts responded with a 10-0 to even things after three quarters 53-53.
Holon continued their surge with the first 11 points of the fourth quarter, before Thondique's basket snapped Antwerp's seven-minute scoreless streak. But David Smith, Dyson twice and Harrush hit three-pointers in consecutive possessions to push the lead to 20 points, 76-56, and the Giants did not get closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
