Artland Dragons took an important step in their quest to reach the EuroChallenge Quarter-Finals by winning on the road at Antwerp Giants on Tuesday night.
In the Last 16 opener for both sides, Artland got 26 points and eight rebounds from Darren Fenn in a 67-63 Group L victory.
Antwerp trailed 54-38 at the end of the third quarter but mounted a furious comeback in the last 10 minutes.
Twice the Belgian club pulled two within two points, once on a basket by Timothy Black to make it 59-57 and next on a dunk by Salah Mejri to trim the deficit to 61-59.
Artland didn't crack.
Nathan Peavy answered Mejri's slam with a three-pointer and after Black buried a jumper to reduce the deficit to 64-61, Fenn drew a foul and made both free-throws.
Michael Roll, held to just 12 points on the night, tried to reply with a three-ball but was off target and Artland rebounded.
The visitors' guard David Holston sank one of two free-throws before Roll drilled a jumper for the final score.
Darnell Wilson had 16 points and six rebounds in defeat.
Artland did a lot of their damage at the free-throw line, making 20 of 25 while Antwerp were just eight of 12.
