ZZ Leiden got on top of BG Göttingen early and clinched an 80-71 win on Tuesday.
In a EuroChallenge Group B battle of 0-1 sides, the visitors from the Netherlands got 22 points from Gabriel Kennedy.
Leiden, who fell at home to Besiktas last week, led from start to finish.
Toon Van Helfteren's men scored the game's first five points and a Kennedy lay-up stretched the advantage to 9-1 with 6:32 to go in the first quarter.
A Jevohn Shepherd basket gave Leiden their biggest lead of the second quarter at 39-23.
The Violets have shown a battling spirit in Europe the past few years so it was no surprise when they pulled to within 50-45 after two free-throws by Raymond Sykes.
But Leiden's Sean Cunningham went to the other end and nailed a three-ball.
Two minutes into the fourth quarter and Sykes hit a jump shot to bring the hosts even closer at 59-55.
Kennedy replied with two free-throws and another basket to calm Leiden's nerves and they kept their noses in front the rest of the way for a nine-point victory.
Shepherd finished with 16 points for Leiden, who were 25 of 32 at the charity stripe compared to 13 of 21 for the home side.
Sykes led Göttingen with 18 points and eight rebounds.
