Bilbao Basket coach Txus Vidorreta have travelled to Ukraine for Tuesday's Eurocup Qualifying Round opener against BC Donetsk looking for someone to fill the void created by the injury-forced absence of Chris Warren. The sharpshooting Warren, who joined from Air Avellino in the summer, is out of action with an ankle injury and that didn't help the Basque outfit over the weekend when they fell at home to Fuenlabrada. "He is an important player for us," Vidorreta said. "He can play in position two (shooting guard) or three (small forward). "Without a doubt, he was going to be a player that would be given a lot of minutes in our next games. "His injury has forced us to change our plans although we know that it's something that happens in sport and we have a team that is capable of covering his absence." Players that are getting more minutes with Warren out of the line-up include Paco Vazquez and Lithuania's Renaldas Seibutis. "Paco and Seibutis will not be able to help us as much as Chris does in rebounding, so it is going to take an effort from everyone," Vidorreta said. |
