Alex Mumbru - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao (Spain-ACB)
Career: Juventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 1999-02); Real Madrid (Spain-ACB, 2002-04); Juventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2004-06); Real Madrid (Spain-ACB, 2006-09); Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao (Spain-ACB, 2009-13)

Mumbru makes his return to the Spanish national team for the first time since 2010 and has a bitter taste in his mouth he wants to get rid of. Mumbru's last appearance - a sixth-place showing at the 2010 FIBA World Championship - was the last time Spain did not win gold or silver since their fourth place at EuroBasket 2005. The Barcelona native is the consummate pro with a proven winning track record. In addition to gold at the 2006 World Championship, silver at the 2008 Olympic, gold at EuroBasket 2009 and silver at EuroBasket 2007; Mumbru also reached the 2013 Eurocup final and 2011 ACB finals with Bilbao and won the 2007 ACB and ULEB Cup crowns with Real Madrid and the 2006 EuroCup with Joventut. Mumbru is still a weapon on offence with the ability to take over games while remaining a solid defender despite turning 34.
