Sony Athinaikos overturned a six-point, first-leg deficit against Partizan Galenika and advanced to the Quarter-Finals of the EuroCup Women.

The defending champions, beaten 66-60 last week in Belgrade, won 71-56 on Thursday night with Latoya Davis pouring in 17 points.

After outscoring the visitors 15-10 in the first quarter, the hosts took the lead in the tie for good when Aikaterina Sotiriou caught a pass by fellow Greece international Olga Chatzinikolaou and hit a jump shot for a 21-14 advantage.

There was still all to play for by half-time, though, with Athinaikos on top in the second leg 35-25.

When Dimitra Kalentzou, another Greece international, buried a jumper with 4:55 to go in the third quarter, the Athinaikos advantage was 47-30.

The lead ballooned to 58-36 by the end of the quarter and the hosts cruised over the last 10 minutes for a 15-point win on the night and nine-point aggregate triumph.

Belarus international Marina Kress added nine points and eight rebounds for Athinaikos while Sheena Moore scored 19 points for Partizan but turned the ball over seven times.
