|Michael Roll stayed below his season average on Tuesday but Antwerp were so good collectively that they still reached an easy victory|
Antwerp Giants breathed some life back into their EuroChallenge campaign with an 83-58 blowout of visiting Triumph Lyubertsy on Tuesday night.
Ralph Biggs and Michael Roll each scored 13 points for the Belgian team as they bounced back from defeats in their opening two Last 16 Group L games.
Eddy Casteels' players gave themselves a launch pad for victory with a 9-0 run in the first quarter that gave the club an 18-9 lead.
A Timothy Black three-pointer stretched the lead to 25-13 late in the opening frame and the Giants kept the pressure on in the second quarter when stretching the advantage to 52-30.
After going in front by as many as 25 in the third, Antwerp took a 66-46 lead to the last quarter.
Triumph had nothing left in them because the Giants tightened the screw over the last 10 minutes, extending their advantage to 30 before walking off the court with a 25-point win.
Antwerp were nine of 23 from behind the arc to just two of seven for Triumph.
The Russian team hurt their own cause with 23 turnovers.
