Club Team 2012-13: Edremit Belediyesi (Turkey-TKBL) Career: Lemminkainen Klaipeda (Lithuania-LMKL, 2006-2009), VICI Aistes Kaunas (Lithuania-LMKL, 2010-11), Good Angels Kosice (Slovak Republic - Extraliga, 2011), Hainaut Basket (France-LFB, 2011-12), Edremit Belediyesi (Turkey-TKBL, 2012-13) A feisty and dynamic wing player, Solopova can sometimes run hot and cold, but when she is on fire, her wing play can be hard to deal with and magical for fans to watch. Technically gifted, she truly rose to prominence at a European level during 2010-11 on the EuroLeague Women stage with VICI Aistes and that led to her being snapped up by Good Angels Kosice. She has since played in France and spent last season testing her skills in the Turkish League. She is an imaginative and hyperactive player who will not only take whatever comes her way on the floor in terms of shooting triples or making lay-ups in transition, she can also create and use her strength to get to the hoop in traffic. She didn't shoot as well as she is capable of during qualification, spending much of her time releasing the ball from the perimeter, but her defence and intense attitude meant she was given the second-most minutes by Coach Paulauskas to confirm her status as a fundamental pillar of the team. She hates losing and you will rarely see someone who displays it quite as much on the court. |
