Abalde Seeks Pastures New

Spain international Tamara Abalde has parted ways with Rivas Ecopolis.

The 21-year-old's deal with the Madrid club had been due to expire at the end of the season but she asked to be released in order to have more playing time at another club.

"I want to thank the club for their help in resolving this situation in an amicable way and I wish them the best of luck," Abalde said.

"I also would like to thank the fans for all their support in recent years."

Abalde was out of action due to injury in the past year but has returned to fitness.

The Spanish international joined Rivas in the 2008-09 campaign from Ros Casares.

Rivas, meanwhile, have two games remaining in the EuroLeague Women Qualifying Round and are fourth in Group B at 3-5.
