An exciting player, the versatile Zoi Dimitrakou will play at her third EuroBasket Women tournament in Poland as her influence on the Greek team continues to grow with each year. She has a comprehensive all-round skill-set and while she looks a natural at the small forward spot, the 24-year-old can also play either down or up for brief spells to help the team when needed. Difficult to guard, she draws plenty of foul shots and uses her speed to great effect. The Thessaloniki-native can score either side of the arc and her three double-digit returns during last autumn in the Czech Republic, including one against USA, highlighted her importance to the team. Always willing to contribute on the glass and able to split defences with her passing ability, she is also getting much better at looking after the ball and is maturing into a smart player. After lots of court time and good production in her first season outside of Greece playing in the LFB in France, she should be full of confidence. Certainly there have been signs of improvement in her rebounding, floor shooting and court vision since stepping out for Aix-en-Provence. |
