Kourtney Treffers came up with her best perfomance in the tournament so far and propelled the Netherlands to a dramatic and vital victory

The Netherlands reached the Quarter-Finals of the U18 European Championship Women after launching a super final-quarter comeback to force overtime and secure a dramatic 68-66 win against stunned Serbia.

It was one of the most thrilling games witnessed in Bucharest and answered a major question of the Netherlands' mentaility and resilience.

For having unexpectedly lost their previous game to Slovenia, they found themselves trailing by 13 points heading into the final six minutes of regulation and looking like they could be disappointed once again.

Head coach Remy De Wit will be delighted with what unfolded as his team, who had been labouring offensively, particularly from long-range, finally found the little extra they needed.

As for Serbia coach Zoran Kovacic, he will be alarmed at how his team had this game ripped from them after dominating for long periods, including the second quarter which they won 20-7 to jump into the box-seat.

Ahead 58-45, Serbia imploded offensively when it really matterd, managing just one more score as the Netherlands scented an unlikely success.

Having been stone cold from downtown, Laura Cornelius finally got one to drop from the perimeter to tie the game at 60-60.

During overtime, the Netherlands continued to enjoy the upper hand and kept their composure from the free-throw line to secure a memorable win.

Serbia can at least be thankful it wasn't a knockout blow and they could still advance with a win against the Slovak Republic on what promises to be an eventful and decisive final day in Group F.
