Hosting nation Serbia have suffered a blow with guard Nevena Jovanovic possibly out for the rest of the UMCOR U18 European Championship Women in Novi Sad.

Jovanovic sustained a back injury in Saturday's 91-64 triumph over Sweden and was taken to a local hospital for an MRI.

The player who turned 17 on Saturday is expected to miss the rest of the tournament.

Serbian coach Zoran Kovacic is nevertheless optimistic of recovering center Jelena Mitic.

Mitic is struggling with a muscular injury and is doubtful for Sunday's clash against Poland.

Serbia have already qualified for the knock-out round having won their opening two games.
