Spain tore apart Serbia 85-63 to capture their first-ever EuroBasket gold medal in Katowice, Poland on Sunday night.

World champions in 2006, silver-medal winners at EuroBasket 2007 in Madrid and runners-up to Team USA at last year's Olympics, the Spanish underlined their status as the dominant side on the continent.

We Meet Again

Spain and Serbia will square off for the second time at EuroBasket 2009 when they meet in Sunday's gold-medal game showdown in Katowice.

The Serbians, who won the first encounter 66-57 in Warsaw, defeated Slovenia in overtime on Saturday night to advance to the title game while Spain hammered Greece in their Semi-Final.

Haven't We Met Before?

Spain and Serbia will face off in the EuroBasket 2009 final with Greece playing for the bronze medal. European basketball fans should get used to seeing those three nations challenge for titles well into the future.

In the last three summers, that trio of nations has captured eight of the nine titles in the annual U16, U18 and U20 championships while collecting six additional medals of another color - for a total of 14 of the available 27 medals.

Serbia Top Slovenia In Epic Semi

Milos Teodosic exploded for 32 points as Serbia edged Slovenia 96-92 in overtime on Saturday night to reach the EuroBasket Final.

Dusan Ivkovic's men will take on Spain in Sunday's gold-medal game, a team they beat in their Group C Preliminary Round opener in Warsaw.
