After four campaigns playing with Hemofarm, this 23-year-old guard has just completed his first season outside Serbia at Benetton Treviso in the Italian League and that means he will bring added experience to the table when he suits up for the National Team again this summer. Markovic is an excellent defensive presence and if only he could up his perimeter shooting percentages then he could be a much more dangerous threat on offence but his stone cold 0 of 16 from downtown at EuroBasket 2009 tells a story and he will be eager for an improvement this time around. However it is clear that his size, athleticism, impressive wingspan and attention to detail mean inevitably it will always be his defence that is top of any list outlining his strengths. He provides a really solid back-up option coming off the bench or to utilise as a lock-down defender when needed.
