One year ago Nikola Kalinic was considered to be just one of many talented Serbian basketball players. He had been at EuroBasket 2013, but only scored 31 points for the whole tournament. However, he followed this up with a strong season for Radnicki Kragujevac and his fortunes began to change. Kalinic ‘exploded' at the 2014 FIBA World Cup with basketball fans likely to remember him for his spectacular dunks and blocks, whilst he will remember the World Cup for the silver medal he helped earn. Following a dream tournament, Kalinic joined Crvena Zvezda Telekom and participated in the most successful season in the history of the club. He helped the red and whites to win the ABA League, Serbian Championship and Serbian Cup. Now he hopes to wrap up the amazing year with one more medal for his rapidly growing collection.
