Serbia is the first team to survive in the 13-16 Classification Round and play one more year in Division A after a 75-67 victory over Lithuania in Group G.
With this win, Serbia take a 4-0 record in the group and secure their destiny.
Lithuania beat only Austria so far and fell to 1-3 as Division B is moving closer.
Nemanja Nedovic led Serbia with 18 points, Branislav Djekic added 14 and Nemanja Jaramaz finished with 11 points and four assists.
Dovydas Redikas had 22 points for Lithuania followed by Paulius Dambrauskas with 11 points and six assists while Giedrius Staniulis finished with 11.
Lithuania's coach, Marius Linartas, choose to limit his rotation as only seven players wearing green stepped on the floor today, yet that didn't make a lot of difference and another loss knocked on the door of Lithuania's locker room.
The first minutes belongs to the Lithuanians who took a 2-7 lead, and hanged on to it for a 16-22 margin at the end of the first half.
Serbia tied the score with two long range hits, but Staniulis and Redikas pushed Lithuania back up to take a 35-39 lead at the break.
Djekic was ready to make a statement back from the break and Serbia now held the lead, yet didn't get too far ahead and entering the last quarter the score was 52-50 in favor of the Serbs.
With four minutes to play Staniulis tied the score at 62-62 yet Milic Blagojevic added a lay-up plus a bonus from the line, Djekic did the same and Jaramaz hit a three pointer to cap a 9-1 run and keep Serbia in a safe zone.
Tomorrow Serbia will take on Austria while Lithuania will play Croatia in a game that could be very crucial for the final outcome.
