Stefan Popovski-Turanjanin scored 22 points and Nemanja Krstic added 11 points as Serbia rolled past Finland 101-49 in the Group B opener at the U18 European Championship Men.
Every Serb scored at least four points and six players had eight points in a game that was not close after five minutes. Joonas Caven tallied 18 of his 22 points in the first half while Kalle Naapi added 11 points.
Caven scored Finland's first 10 points in keeping his team in the contest at 11-10. And it was 13-12 when Serbia scored the final 11 points of the first quarter for a 24-12 lead.
The lead grew to 30-12 before Caven tallied eight points to pull within 32-20. But once again, the Serbs went on a big run, scoring 12 straight before leading 47-24 at the break.
Serbia tallied the first 12 points of the second half for a 35-point advantage, which grew to 40 points in the third quarter. The Finns would not get closer than 40 points in the fourth period.
