Having recently reached a landmark birthday, 30-year-old Skrela could finally see some action with the senior team, as France try to plug a potentially worrying hole in the shooting guard position, due to retirement and injury. The shooting guard has certainly made a strong case to make the final roster after some pivotal displays for Montpellier this year, including a memorable game high 24-points to win the Cup against Nantes Reze. A long servant to her club side, she is chasing down a decade with the team and after normally being the bridesmaid and never the bride at major tournaments, her ability to play multiple positions on the floor could finally persuade coach Vincent to give her a belated chance to step out on the big stage. She comes from a sporting family with her father a coach of the French Rugby Union team and her brother a professional rugby player.
