Roundup: Antakya Roll In Vilnius

EUROCUP WOMEN

Turkish club Antakya Belediyes broke open a tight game in the second half and rolled to their second straight victory in the EuroCup Women on Wednesday night.

Jolene Anderson scored 22 points and Shekinna Stricklen 21 as Antakya won 93-66 in Group H at Vilnius Kibirkstis in Lithuania.

Only on top 39-34 at half-time, the visitors stretched the advantage to 61-52 by the end of the third quarter and then lowered the boom in the final period, outscoring Vilnius Kibirkstis 32-14.

The hosts fell to 1-1.

Partizan Galenika also won their Group G game on the road but needed overtime to do it.

Marina Maljkovic's side prevailed, 81-75, at VS Prague.

Milica Dabovic, who represented Serbia's national team in the Qualification Round for the EuroBasket Women 2013, finished with 29 points, six rebounds and six assists for Partizan at Prague.

Marina Mandic's late jumper knotted the game at 69-69 and overtime was needed.

Once in the extra period, Dabovic hit a pair of free-throws with 3:39 to play for a 74-73 lead and Partizan stayed on top the rest of the way.

In Group A, Satu Mare rode a strong third quarter to a convincing win at SISU Basketball Gentofte.

The visitors outscored SISU 21-11 in the frame for a 41-32 lead and never turned back.

BLMA were among the best teams in France last season and they could go far in the EuroCup Women.

They also prevailed in Group A at home on Wednesday but needed overtime to down Chevakata, 76-59.

Edwige Lawson finished with 32 points for the French, who also got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Geraldine Robert.

BLMA outscored Chevakata 18-7 in overtime.

In Group C, Tarbes blew out Spartak Noginsk 71-42 with 28-year-old shooting guard Paoline Salagnac pouring in 20 points.

Tarbes raced into a 21-11 lead and had a stranglehold on proceedings for the rest of the game.

In Group D, Nantes Reze claimed a 63-58 victory over Dynamo - GUVD.

Marielle Amant had 14 points and six rebounds for Nantes to lead a balanced attack.

Caroline Aubert and Nantes saw off some tough Russian opposition

Nantes won for the second week in a row.

Another Franco-Russian battle went the way of the French as Basket Landes edged Dynamo Moscow, 79-73, in Group G.

Anais Le Gluher-Cano finished with 27 points for Basket Landes, who hit back from last week's heavy defeat at Partizan Galenika.

Lotto Young Cats weren't able to follow up their one-point win at Olimpia in Group B with another triumph at home to Ted Ankara.

The Turkish side prevailed, 80-69, with Ana Dabovic's 19 points a team-high.

Both sides are now 1-1.

In a very tight Group C game on Wednesday evening, Mersin claimed a 70-66 victory at Belfius Namur.

The hosts led by nine points in the first quarter, only for Mersin to hit back and go on top by eight in the second.

After half-time, the contest was close until the end, with Shavonte Zellous putting Mersin in front for good at 67-66 when making two free-throws just 22 seconds from the end.

Zellous was one of the stars of the Indiana Fever's recent WNBA title run.

She finished with 19 points for Mersin.

Bahar Ozturk led the way for Mersin with 25 points.
