Cherkaski Mavpy had a bittersweet taste of victory on Tuesday when they won for the third time in six EuroCup Qualifying Round games by beating Banvit 87-81 but failed to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Mavpy jumped out to a 26-18 first-quarter lead and stormed to victory. However, they finished third in Group B behind Ural Great and Dexia Mons-Hainaut.
Cherkaski Mavpy bowed out of the EuroCup this week, leaving the club to focus firmly on its domestic campaign.
And to boost chances of grabbing silverware, Mavpy have signed Serbian forward Miroslav Markovic.
Dexia lost for the second week in a row when falling at Cherkaski Mavpy on Tuesday, but they did just enough to secure their passage into the EuroCup Quarter-Final Round.
Chris Finch's Dexia (3-2), who lost to Ural Great last time out, won their first encounter against Mavpy (2-3) by five points while on Tuesday, they lost 76-72.
Ural Great Perm broke open a close game late in the second quarter and pulled away for a 93-73 home triumph against Cherkaski Mavpy in the EuroCup Qualifying Round on Tuesday.
American point guard Andrew Wisniewski had 18 points while Vanja Plisnic contributed 17 as the Perm (4-0) side, who upset Dynamo Moscow in Russia at the weekend, maintained its unbeaten record in Group B.
