Elan Chalon won for the third time in four EuroChallenge games on Tuesday in an 83-74 victory over visiting CSU Mobitelco.

Ilian Evtimov and Blake Schilb poured in 18 points apiece for the French team, which stormed into a 24-15 lead by the end of the first quarter and stayed in front the rest of the way.

Evtimov had four three-pointers and also collected a game-high 12 rebounds in the Group E game while France's EuroBasket silver-medalist Steed Tchicamboud led all players with 13 assists.

Zoran Krstanovic and Kyndall Dykes each had 20 points in defeat for CSU, who fell to 1-3.

Chalon poured in the game's first nine points and never trailed, although CSU fought back in the opening frame.

Krstanovic's jumper cut the home side's lead to 16-14 but Abdul Aminu had a three-point play for Chalon.

A Schilb jumper and Nicolas Lang's three-ball stretched the advantage to 24-15.

Chalon led by 15 in the second quarter before taking a 39-26 lead to half-time.

The advantage ballooned to 25 in the third quarter.

The hosts took their foot off the pedal and it almost came back to hurt them.

CSU Mobitelco on four occasions cut the gap to six points in the last time with 23 seconds to go.

But Chalon kept their noses in front.
