EiffelTowers Come From Behind To Stun Proteas EKA AEL

02 December 2008

EiffelTowers staged a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback to win for the second time in EuroChallenge Group D on Tuesday.

The Dutch side trailed 62-55 heading into the final quarter but outscored Proteas EKA AEL 32-14 the rest of the way en route to an 87-76 victory.

For the winners, Jerome Beasley poured in 20 points, David Jackson 18 and Dean Oliver 14.

Oliver also handed out nine assists.

The home team began the fourth quarter by reeling off nine consecutive points, capped by Jos Frederiks' three-ball, to stun Proteas and lead 64-62.

The Cypriot juggernauts stopped the bleeding and looked as if they might just claim victory.

A Vujadin Subotic lay-up gave them their final lead at 71-68 with 4:26 remaining.

Jackson drilled a three-pointer to spark a 10-0 that put EiffelTowers in front for good.

Darrel Mitchell had 15 points for Proteas while Haris Mujezinovic poured in a team-high 17.
