Wiel’s EiffelTowers Shoot Down Siauliai

09 December 2008

EiffelTowers Den Bosch made 14 three-pointers on their way to a 96-82 blowout of BC Siauliai in Holland.

The Dutch side remained undefeated at 3-0 in EuroChallenge Group D while their Lithuanian opponents dropped to 1-2.

Randy Wiel, who played college basketball for Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina and later served as an assistant to the coaching legend, has the reins at EiffelTowers and he looks to have a very good team.

EiffelTowers scored the game's first four points and stayed on top for the entire contest.

At the end of the opening quarter, Wiel's team was in front 28-19 and by half-time, the advantage had grown to 52-38.

They had a 72-53 stranglehold on the contest late in the third quarter and there was no way back for Siauliai.

The Lithuanians also had a good day shooting the ball from behind the arc, nailing 13 of 27.

They had 15 turnovers compared to just 10 for the hosts.
