Balanced Attack Wins It For Prostejov

BK Prostejov picked up their second win in EuroChallenge Group L with a 99-82 victory over basement-dwellers BC Zadar.

Zelimir Zagorac scored 18 points to lead six players scoring in double figures but they did not have things all their own way.

After racing into a 21-11 lead in the first quarter, they saw Zadar clamber back to level the scores at 28-28 on Pavle Marcinkovic's jump-shot at the start of the second quarter.

Zadar's run continued as they scored the first 10 points of the period to lead 36-28 on Miro Bilan's jumper.

Prostejov could not get back on level terms until the start of the second half, when Benas Veikalas sunk a three-pointer on a fast-break to make it 45-45.

Another three from Veikalas moments later gave the hosts the lead back at 48-47 and they edged away until yet another bomb from the Lithiuanian guard gave them a double-digit advantage, 62-52.

They were rarely troubled again, and pulled away in the fourth quarter to enjoy a comfortable win.

Eugene Lawrence scored 16 points for Prostejov while dishing out 12 assists, while Kyle Landry had 15 points.

Andrius Slezas and Veikalas chipped in with 13 each, while Bertengeh Gadri had 12 and eight rebounds.

Bilan finished with 23 points and nine rebounds for Zadar, while Marko Car had 18 points, Ivan Batur 12 and Mario Dundovic 10.
