Alessandra Santos earns player of the week honours following her performance in Ros Casares Valencia's home win over USO basket.

The win was a welcome diversion for Valencia who have had a difficult start to the European season.

Coach Israel Sanchis was sacked after just one game in the EuroLeague Women, but since the arrival of new playcaller Esteban Albert Guerola, Valencia have been back on track.

They currently occupy first spot in the Liga Feminina and their EuroLeague Women win against USO was their first after a two game slide.

Santos produced her best game of the season for Valencia, tallying 21 points and 12 rebounds in the 76-73 win.

The Brazilian center is back in the competition after two seasons in Italy and her return is paying off for Valencia where she is averaging 11.1 ppg and 6.9 rpg.

With a 3/4 record, Valencia cannot be among one of the competition favourites at this stage of the season. However, they should do enough to qualify for the next round and none of the top sides will want to face them in a three-game play-off series.
