Antti Nikkila - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: Tampereen Pyrintö (Finland-Korisliiga)
Career: Tampereen Pyrintö (Finland-Korisliiga, 1995-99); Valparaiso (USA-NCAA, 1999-2003); Aris Thessaloniki (Greece-ESAKE, 2003-04); Ionikos Athens (Greece-ESAKE, 2004-05); BCM Gravelines Dunkerque (France-Pro A, 2004-05); Juve Caserta (Italy-LegaDue, 2005-06); CEZ Nymburk (Czech Republic-NBL, 2006-07); Sassari (Italy-LegaDue, 2007-08); Tampereen Pyrintö (Finland-Korisliiga, 2008-09); CB Girona (Spain-LEB1, 2009-10); Tampereen Pyrintö (Finland-Korisliiga, 2010-13)

The Giant of Kangasala graduated from the University of Valparaiso in 2003 and has played a respectable professional career, gathering three cup championships in the Czech Republic, France and Greece, while also celebrating the Czech league title before returning to his hometown club Tampereen Pyrintö in Finland. Nikkilä was named the Finnish league MVP in 2009 and he was awarded a Finnish league gold medal in 2011 and Finnish cup championship medal in 2013. Built like the Colossus of Rhodes, Nikkilä is the prototype Eastern European big man whose sole presence forces opposing players to think twice before entering the paint, and his experience is still vital for the Wolf Pack. He's one of only two current Finnish national team players born in the 1970s, alongside his long-time teammate Hanno Möttölä.
