Turkyilmaz is a top prospect in the Turkish system and, should he make the cut, will be making his second big tournament appearance after playing a total of 21 minutes at EuroBasket 2011. He also had a solid backup role in the EuroBasket 2013 Qualification Round, averaging 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in nearly 14 minutes. Turkyilmaz is not afraid to shoot from the outside and can be effective from out there. He also displays some athleticism and explosiveness on the offensive end, the main reasons he was selected in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. Turkyilmaz is still not a difference maker at the defensive end, despite his good size and length. He also has yet to really take the next step at the club level from promising youngster coming off the bench. A strong showing in Slovenia would help his confidence as he has already turned 23.
