Banvit moved to the top of EuroCup Group C on Tuesday night with an 82-61 win at pool strugglers Atomeromu SE.
The winless hosts had no answer to a Banvit side who will definitely qualify if they win at Lokomotiv Rostov in their final outing next week.
The match in Russia could prove troublesome, certainly more so than the trip to Hungary.
The hosts started well but eventually ran out of steam as Banvit found their range.
Atomeromu led 16-11 after the first quarter but a 14-0 second period run ultimately proved decisive for the visitors.
Banvit went in at half-time 32-29 ahead and it would prove a lead they never relinquished.
Another 14-2 run at the start of the third period confirmed the Turkish side's superiority and Atomeromu never really threatened again, despite a wonderful performance from the hosts' Zoltan Horvath, who scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds - both team highs.
Marque Perry top scored for the winners with 22 points although he has backed up by team-mates Bekir Yarangume (17 points) and Miroslav Radosevic (16). |
