Bourges Deliver Early Knockout Against Nadezhda
French giants Bourges had to scratch and claw their way to last season's EuroLeague Women Final Four but this season, they are making things look very easy.
Pierre Vincent's team won for the third consecutive game on Wednesday, blowing out Nadezhda 79-45.
The visitors from Russia, after losing heartbreakers to Wisla Can-Pack Krakow and Halcon Avenida, were never in the contest at Bourges where they trailed from start to finish.
By half-time, the game was over as Bourges were on top, 51-20.
The Russian outfit endured an almighty struggle shooting the ball against Vincent's vaunted team defense, making just 18 of 43 (41.8%) shots inside the arc while missing all eight of their attempts from long range.
Nadezhda even made just nine of 18 (50%) shots at the free throw line.
If their shooting wasn't bad enough, Nadezhda were also careless with the ball, turning it over 24 times.
Celine Dumerc and Katarina Manic each came up with four steals for Bourges.
Endene Miyem and Ana Lelas scored 16 points apiece to lead the French side.
