MiZo Pecs 2010 scraped a 68-66 victory at Germano Zama Faenza in Italy on Wednesday with Marija Eric missing a jumper at the end that would have tied the game.

The success was the Hungarian team s third in four games and kept them just a game behind Ros Casares, who improved to 4-0 with a triumph at home against TEO Vilnius.

Dalma Ivanyi, the heart and soul of MiZo and a EuroLeague Women All Star, had 11 points, six assists and five rebounds.

MiZo played away from home but they had a lot of support in the stands and it did not go unnoticed by their coach, Laszlo Ratgeber.

"The key to winning this game was nothing more than pure luck," he said after. "I am proud of the Hungarian supporters; there were almost a 100 of them tonight in Faenza."

MiZo appeared to be on their way to a straightforward win when Ivanyi buried a three-pointer to stretch their lead to 66-58 with 6:21 remaining.

They went cold, though, over the next three minutes and the Italian team clawed their way back to tie the game at 66-66 on an Eric jumper with 4:07 remaining.

Just two more points would be scored the rest of the way as both teams struggled on offense.

Emilija Podrug, who had a game-high nine assists to go with her 10 points, twice went to the line and managed to convert just one of two each time.

Eric had a game-high 17 points but missed the chance to lift her team to victory at the end.

Faenza dropped to 1-3 in the group.
