Ndongue Player Of Year in France
Emmeline Ndongue of Bourges Basket can no longer lay claim to being one of the most underrated power forwards/centers in Europe.
The France international was on Wednesday recognized as the French league (LFB) Player of the Year.
Ndongue, who turns 28 on April 25, averaged 9.1 points and 5.4 rebounds this season.
She will attempt to lead Bourges to the French title.
Challes-les-Eaux's American Mistie Bass has been named top foreign player of the year and Mondeville's 17-year-old Esther Niamke is the best young player.
Hejkova Pens Ros Casares Extension
Natalia Hejkova will have the luxury of doing something next season that she wasn't able to do in 2010-11.
She'll coach Ros Casares for a full campaign.
As expected, the Spanish club has signed Hejkova, who replaced Jordi Fernandez at the helm before the EuroLeague Women Quarter-Finals, to an extension that will keep the Slovakian at the club for the 2011-12 basketball year.
Hejkova had offers from other leading European sides but elected to stay with Ros in sunny Valencia.
"I have adapted to this club and to this city perfectly," Hejkova said.
"When they offered me the option to renew, I didn't think much about it because my aim is to guide this club to the highest point and I'm sure that we will achieve that."

The highest point is a EuroLeague Women title, something that has escaped Ros so far.
The team reached the Final in 2007 and 2010, losing to Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje on both occasions.
Ros made it back to the Final Four this year but lost to eventual champions and Spanish rivals Halcon Avenida in the Semi-Finals on April 8.
"I like to take it one step at a time and before I think about next season's project, we still have to play the finals of the Liga Femenina," Hejkova said.
"I know Ros Casares is a club that is accustomed to winning and although it will not be easy, we will give everything to achieve the title."
After sweeping Mann Filter Zaragoza 2-0, Ros will once again face Avenida, a team that has won all four encounters with the Valencia outfit this season.
Ros Casares general manager said of Hejkova: "In the months that she has been with us, she has proved to have very clear ideas and she is the right person to guide our club.
"Natalia knows that our project next season will revolve around her and she has accepted this challenge."
Hejkova led Ruzomberok to back-to-back EuroLeague Women crowns in 1999-2000, and did the same with Sparta&K in 2007-08.
She will this summer be in charge of Slovakia's national team again when they compete at the EuroBasket Women in Poland.
Hejkova's contract extension is the second done by Ros.
The club earlier renewed the contract of captain Laia Palau.
Fifth-Game Decider In Hungary
Pecs 2010 had a 2-0 lead over MKB Euroleasing Sopron in the Hungarian play-off championship but that finals series is going to the wire.
Sopron won Game 4 on Tuesday night, 79-55, with Amber Holt pouring in 16 points.
Norbert Szekely's team raced into a 20-12 lead by the end of the first quarter and never turned back.
