It's taken a long time, but Uri Kokia's hard work has paid off as he is now an important part of the Israeli National Team. Having started off his career in the second division, he worked his way up to the top flight of Israeli basketball, and last summer, played a key part in the EuroBasket qualification campaign.. He played only limited minutes in the early games, but by the time they reached the decider against Italy, he was a key part of the rotation - logging seven points and four boards in 16 minutes of action. A strong and physical inside player who likes to draw contact, he is also a good rebounder at both ends of the floor. He blocks out very well and has good overall habits when he is on the court. He perhaps needs to work his foul shooting, but is an excellent team player who understands his role.
