Anastasiya Verameyenka looked as dominant as ever for Nadezhda on Thursday as the Orenburg outfit beat Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje to reach the final of the Russian Cup. In a battle of EuroLeague Women sides, the Belarus international Verameyenka had 13 points and 13 rebounds - five on the offensive glass - and swatted two shots as Nadezhda prevailed 85-82. Vladimir Koloskov's side will now take on UMMC Ekaterinburg in Friday's title game. UMMC brushed aside Dynamo-GUVD on Thursday, 99-48. Russia internationals Maria Stepanova and Olga Arteshina led the way with 19 and 18 points, respectively, for Ekaterinburg. Zuzana Zirkova also, as expected, made her debut with UMMC following her move this week from Good Angels Kosice. The playmaker had three points and four rebounds in 17 minutes. |
