Perfumerias Avenida have strengthened their line-up with Russian veteran Ilona Korstin.
A key member of Russia's national team for several years and a player that has competed for CSKA Samara (and later CSKA Moscow), Sparta&K Moscow Region and this season, Besiktas, Korstin has joined the defending EuroLeague Women champions for three months.
The 31-year-year-old averaged 10.6 points and 6.5 rebounds for Besiktas in the EuroCup Women.
Jorge Manuel Recio Flemmich, the Avenida president, said Korstin "is a player who has won almost everything and we all know what it means for this team. She made the decision quickly, mainly because she wanted to come here to enjoy basketball."
Korstin played on Russia's gold-medal winning sides at the EuroBasket Women in 2007, and 2011.
In her lone EuroLeague Women title campaign of 2004-05, Korstin played for VBM-SGAU Samara and averaged 12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 30.9 minutes per contest.
Samara beat Gambrinus Brno in the Final that season, 69-66.
She played 21 minutes but failed to score for the Sparta&K side that lost to Perfumerias in the title game of last year's EuroLeague Women.
Perfumerias won eight of their 12 games in EuroLeague Women Group B this season and will take on Beretta Famila Schio in a best-of-three Round 2 series.
The teams met twice during the Regular Season and split the encounters.
