|Irina Osipova's 16 points kept Sparta&K in the game when it looked like Fenerbahce would pull away|
Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje pulled away late in the fourth quarter to complete a stunning comeback in their EuroLeague Women quarter-final tie with Fenerbahce, as they recorded an 86-78 road win.
They had to come from behind to do it though, having trailed by as many as 16 points at halftime before fighting their way back.
But it seemed like a completely different team had left the locker room after the break as Sparta&K opened the third period with a 7-0 run.
But Fenerbahce seemed to have found their groove and still led 62-53 with just over a minute to play in that quarter.
But the Russian giants would not go away and completed the comeback in great fashion.
Sonja Petrovic's lay-up capped an 8-0 run that put them 65-64 ahead with 8:22 to go.
The two teams traded the lead and Spartak were clinging to a slim 70-68 advantage with 6:21 to go.
Sue Bird's three-pointer later stretched it to six, 78-72, and after Hana Horakova's lay-up for Fener, Irina Osipova's free throws and Taj McWilliams' tip-in made it 82-74 with 57 seconds left.
Epifaniya Prints led Sparta&K with 19 points, while Osipova and McWilliams had 16 each, the latter adding 12 rebounds.
Bird also scored in double figures with 12 points.
Fener wasted 24 points from Nevriye Yilmaz and 20 more from Ivana Matovic.
